I received a copy of Vista RC1 at one of the recent Microsoft events, so I picked up an old PC that just barely meets the requirements - 1 GHz CPU and 512 RAM. Let us see what that might look like. After observing how Windows XP operates (if you can call it that) with the minimum recommended 128 RAM, there is much skepticism on my part.

In any event, the CPU came without an OS so I started out installing Windows 2000 as a base. However, when I tried to run the Vista install, it told me that I needed at least Win2K SP4, so when the 588 Meg download completes, I'll be ready to upgrade to SP4 on my journey to VistaVille. Stay tuned.
